04. lick

Fourth day of the challenge and I was slowly beginning to get used to the process. Today’s word was “lick” which required some more outside-the-box thinking.

November

On a cloudy and wet day I was led to inner Copenhagen and found myself under the Knippelsbro to take my shot. On my way there, I was thinking about how “lick” could be the subject of my image.

I found a wall under the bridge where water evidently had been running down for many years drawing out what looked like white lime, making it look like saliva. I shot the photo below.

Who licked this? Wall with saliva? Stairs.

December

The December photo was taken during a walk in the neighbourhood; there’s a wall on Solbjerg Plads, which in the summertime has an artificial waterfall. The lime in the water has created the same effect as on the first wall, so it was the perfect frame for a recreation.

Comparison

The “saliva” walls are pretty similar, so the recreation is successful. The composition is almost perfectly mirrored, but the stairs mentioned in the caption is missing in the second photo. Still, I think result is quite good.

Come back tomorrow and see my photos for the fifth day of the challenge.
