Last day of the first week; today’s word was “incident” and I was going to a train station.

November
In November I was sent to Vesterbro/Valby on the newly opened S-train station Carlsberg. I was hoping not to have an all too obvious subject; an incident at train station. Fortunately nothing bad happened when I arrived at the station, so I wondered about what then to photograph.
I walked around for a bit, then saw a sign at the end of the platform; the sign had a crossed-over man meaning that you cannot go there. Put together with the dotted yellow safety line on the ground, it gave a nice composition for a could-be “incident”. It resulted in the following photograph.
December
In December I went out the door not really knowing how to recreate the photo. When I came outside I quickly realised what to do after seeing the metro line that ran close to my home; it’s on of the parts of the line that’s above ground.
I went along the metro line and found a location with a locked fence / gate making it possible to see the metro trains, when they ran past. I composed the shot and waited for a train to pass, giving the photograph below.
Comparison
This time the two photographs are not so similar, but in a way they are trying to tell a story. The identical angle and lines makes the similarity big enough to almost simulate the action of the consecutive pictures a comic book (even though the composition is a little bit off).
In this first photo everything is quiet and still and only the crossed-over man gives a little bit of tension. In the other shot the blurriness of the train shows its speed and you get chills when thinking about what would have happened if you didn’t comply with sign and the safety line…
Come back tomorrow and see the first photos of the second week of the challenge.
