The Photographer's Challenge

29. goalkeeper

Second to last day of the challenge and with today’s word “goalkeeper” it was once again necessary to do some out-of-the-box thinking.

November

For the November photo I was going to Nordhavn very close to the location of “post”, but at little closer to the harbour. The word “goalkeeper” was very specific, and I had a hard time picturing how to take the photo. I wasn’t lucky enough to have a football player walking by in his goalkeeper outfit.

A little further down the road from the exact location was the UN City, and that gave me the idea for the subject. The building is a big but relatively flat building, so it was difficult to capture a good photo. Furthermore the building is white, and it was overcast on the day, so the building blurred out against the sky. You can the result below.

December

For the recreation photo in December I hadn’t made it easy for myself with a very specific caption mentioning the UN City. I didn’t want to just go back and take another picture of the building, so I chose to only use the “Our goalkeepers?” part of the caption.

I went to the courthouse on Frederiksberg (Retten på Frederiksberg), which was close to my apartment. I tried to frame the photo the same way as the original and took the photo below.

Comparison

The two photos are not very very similar but not very different either. The angle is the same and the shape of the buildings are also the same, the very unusual pointed triangular shape.

Come back tomorrow for the final two photos of the challenge, and also take and look at my Instagram profile and remember to follow me.
